MEETING OF STYLES 2022-2025

Meeting of Styles is an annual international mural and graffiti festival that has been running since 1997. The event takes place in multiple cities worldwide and originally began in Wiesbaden, Germany. It often emphasizes collaboration between muralists and graffiti artists, with each year featuring a specific theme and color palette.

For the Montreal, Canada edition, I joined five other artists to paint a wall on a hotel near the stadium. I created an expressive portrait of an old friend. Having never been to Montreal before, the trip was inspiring and a great opportunity to explore the city and its art scene.

In Wiesbaden, Germany, I was part of a team of ten artists assigned to paint one of the large walls. We started by agreeing on a color scheme and ordering paint. Each artist developed their own design—I chose to paint a portrait of my mom’s cat, Bessie. We then arranged the final layout, determining vertical and horizontal placements depending on whether each piece was a character or text. I was also invited to create a commissioned piece with other artists for a school on the last day of the festival.

In Copenhagen, Denmark, the festival took place in the city center outside the Tivoli amusement park. Panels were set up in a square, which we painted side by side, creating a collaborative display for the public.

In Los Angeles, USA, I was assigned a wall in the Arts District of downtown LA, painting alongside other international artists from Mexico and Brazil.
